Technical Help Guide

All GetSetArt digital guides are delivered in PDF format, making them easy to open, view, and print. If you’re having trouble accessing your guides, follow the steps below to resolve common issues.

1. Understanding the PDF Format

  • PDF (Portable Document Format): This is a universally accepted file format that preserves the layout and content of your guide, ensuring it looks the same on any device.

2. How to Open PDF Files

PDF files can be opened on almost any device, including computers, tablets, and smartphones. Here’s how:

  • On Windows/Mac:
    • Step 1: Ensure you have a PDF reader installed. Common options include Adobe Acrobat Reader and Preview (for Mac users).
    • Step 2: Locate the downloaded PDF file on your computer. It will typically be in your “Downloads” folder.
    • Step 3: Double-click the file to open it in your PDF reader.
  • On Mobile Devices (iOS/Android):
    • Step 1: Download a PDF reader app from your app store if you don’t already have one. Adobe Acrobat Reader is a popular free option.
    • Step 2: Open the PDF file from your email, file manager, or downloads folder.
    • Step 3: The file should automatically open in your PDF reader app.
  • In Web Browsers:
    • Step 1: Most modern web browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari) have built-in PDF readers.
    • Step 2: Simply drag and drop the PDF file into your browser window, or right-click the file and select “Open with” followed by your preferred web browser.

3. Printing Your Digital Guide

If you prefer a physical copy of your guide, you can print it easily:

  • Step 1: Open the PDF file in your PDF reader.
  • Step 2: Go to the “File” menu and select “Print” (or press Ctrl+P on Windows or Cmd+P on Mac).
  • Step 3: In the print settings, ensure the paper size is set to A4 for best results.
  • Step 4: Click “Print” to produce a hard copy of your guide.

4. Troubleshooting Common Issues

  • File Won’t Open: Ensure your PDF reader is up to date. If the file still won’t open, try restarting your device or using a different PDF reader.
  • Corrupted File: If the PDF appears corrupted or won’t open at all, try re-downloading it from your account orders page.
  • Incorrect Layout When Printing: Make sure the paper size is set to A4 and the scale is set to 100% in your print settings.
